I joined BioSS in 2022 as a research software engineer for open science methods and applications and have since contributed to multiple projects, including: developing population dynamics models of antimicrobial resistance, implementing novel Markovian methods with which to assess freedom from infection of groups of animals, and developing software for the Wastewater management team.

Prior to joining BioSS I completed a PhD in Environmental and Evolutionary Biology, in which the focus of my work was to examine the measurement, dynamics, and interpretation of biological diversity using a novel framework of diversity measures. During this time, I developed the rdiversity package, which is published on CRAN. After that, I was hired as a postdoc, investigating antimicrobial resistance in Klebsiella Pneumoniae, until COVID-19 made an appearance. Then I joined the Scottish COVID-19 response consortium, where I worked on the FAIR Data Pipeline as a lead developer.
