I am a mathematical modeller. Most of my work at BioSS is focussed on the development and analysis of epidemiological and ecological models. I typically analyse models using simulation-based techniques. I also use Bayesian approaches to fit models to data.
I am Future Leader of Challenge 4 in EPIC, which is the Scottish Government-funded Centre of Expertise in Animal Disease Outbreaks.
My current areas of work include
- Modelling disease spread when the population at risk is unknown
- Quantifying phenotypic plasticity in tree populations
- Assessing traceability in between-farm sheep movement networks
