I started at BioSS in February 2025 as a researcher on a NERC project looking at process-based modelling of the impact of anthropogenic nutrient imbalance on carbon fluxes from freshwater lakes

Background

I received my MPhys degree in Physics from Lancaster University in 2021, where my master's project looked at the mathematical and computational modelling of heat transport through different nano-scale graphene geometries. I then began my PhD in Chemical Engineering at UCL, where I have looked at the computational modelling and design optimisation of pulsed fusion power plants.

I am excited to bring my background in physics- and process-based modelling to investigate ecological systems with BioSS!

Personal Interests

I enjoy going out with my camera for nature and landscape photography, and am keen to go hiking and see more of Scotland! I also enjoy board games, with my current favourite being Spirit Island!
