- Development and novel application of statistical modelling
techniques to further research in the ecological, environmental and
agricultural sciences.
- Spatio-temporal modelling of population distribution and
abundance
- Applications of random effect models using REML and MCMC methods
Current & Recent Projects
- Allowing for uncertainty of variance components in power analyses
- Uncovering when weather variables are most strongly related to species traits using difference penalties in random coefficient models
- Modelling metapopulation dynamics of water voles
- Predicting population dynamics in a changing environment
- Estimating the power of biodiversity monitoring schemes
- Estimating collision risk for birds at windfarms
