The World Biodiversity Forum (WBF) is a biannual conference that seeks to address global biodiversity loss. Set-up in 2020 as an analogue to the World Economic Forum, also held in Davos, the WBF brings together researchers from across all disciplines of biodiversity science, life science, management, and finance to explore options and solutions to biodiversity losses. The conference consisted of a wide variety of sessions, ranging from biodiversity and ecosystem functioning, biodiversity trends, economic risks and finance, legislation and biodiversity, connecting science, society and practice, and transformative change.

John Addy attended the WBF where he presented "Has the diversity of flying aphids changed over the past 70 years? An analysis of Scottish suction trap data" on behalf of BioSS and the James Hutton Institute. His talk highlighted the use of Scottish suction trap datasets in understanding changes in aphid diversity and how this is influenced by overwintering temperatures. This work received Financial Support from the Scottish Government Rural Environmental and Scientific Advisory Service Strategic Research Programme and the Underpinning National Capacity programme.
