BioSS consultancy & collaboration information for UKCEH

We collaborate with UKCEH across the organisation. We work closely with UKCEH on various offshore renewables projects and also within a BioSS-UKCEH Methodological Development Framework. Please get in touch with offshore.renewables@bioss.ac.uk for offshore renewables enquiries or thomas.cornulier@bioss.ac.uk for enquiries on the Methodological Development Framework, or on consultancy with BioSS.

The UKCEH-BioSS Methodological Development Framework is a collaboration agreement set up in late 2022 between UKCEH and BioSS. It seeks to develop the availability and accessibility of quantitative methods through small methodological projects, for exploiting data collected and available across the breadth of UKCEH science areas.

The life-cycle of projects is typically one year, following an engagement process with researchers across science areas, to identify methodological gaps and development priorities. Researchers from both organisations jointly design each project, motivated by UKCEH case study examples and data.

BioSS’ specific contribution involves the development of new statistical methodology or mathematical models, or the development of software to make existing methodology more accessible, as well as original training material suitable for training workshops or on-demand use.

The UKCEH-BioSS Methodological Development Framework is underpinned by an open science approach, ensuring that outputs are always publicly available, version-controlled, and fully reproducible.

The outputs can be seen here: https://gitlab.bioss.ac.uk/ukceh-bioss-framework/outputs
