Research Interests

I have worked as an environmental statistician at the Edinburgh office of BioSS since 2004. Research into new statistical methodology forms a core part of my work, and my research interests include :-

I also work on providing long-term consultancy support to scientists at the RSPB and the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology and on delivering short-term consultancy projects for other governmental, charitable and commercial organizations (including Scottish Badgers, JNCC and SNH).

Prior to joining BioSS I studied for a BSc (2001) and PhD (2005) at Lancaster University. My PhD, which was supervised by Janet Heffernan and Jonathan Tawn, was on "statistical modelling of synthetic oceanographic extremes".
