From text files:
To import data which is in the form of a text (ascii) file into Excel, click on the File menu and select Open. Next select the directory and file from the dialog box which appears and click OK. This is illustrated on the right with an example of data on potato tubers. The weight and three linear dimensions were recorded in the text file 'potato.dat'.
Note that if no file list appears make sure Files of type contains All files.

Identifying the file activates the TextWizard which displays a series of dialog boxes, so you can specify how you want the text distributed across columns. You can modify the column breaks which appear in a separate dialog box, adding or deleting line breaks in the process.

From Minitab:
Directly: A Minitab data worksheet can be saved directly as an Excel worksheet by clicking on File, then Save Worksheet As and selecting Excel in the Save as Type box. It can then be opened in Excel like a normal Excel worksheet.

Cut-and-Paste: In Minitab, select the block of data to import and click Edit then copy. Switch to Excel, activate a worksheet and highlight the first cell of the first column that you want the data to occupy. Click on paste in the Edit menu. (This works in any Windows-supported package)
