The following are a few basic procedures for formatting worksheets:

Shortcut menu:
Highlighting an object (e.g. a worksheet cell ) and clicking on the right mouse button brings up a shortcut menu with many of the commands used in editing a worksheet.

Inserting rows:
Highlight the row that you want an extra row to precede and select Insert... on the shortcut menu or Insert > Row on the standard menubar.

Changing the row/column width:
Highlight the row(s) or column(s) to be formatted and select Row height/Column width from the shortcut menu or from under Format on the standard menubar.

Formatting cells:
Select the cells to be formatted. Activate the shortcut menu and click on Format cells or alternatively select Format > Cells... from the standard menubar. Then make the necessary changes to the dialog box when it appears.

Referencing cells:
To reference various sections of the worksheet, use for example, $A$2:$A$10 to denote all items of column A between row 2 and row 10.
