The group file must have the extension *.grp.

It contains the population structure one wants to test. For instance, if there are 10 populations numbered 1-10 and they are to be grouped as five pairs, the group file would contain: 

10 populations in 5 groups
1 2
3 4
5 6
7 8
9 10
