A comparison between BARCE and RECPARS

Tree height 0.3

Data

The simulated DNA sequence alignment was generated with the program SIRENS, using the command data=SIRENS(17,0.15), where 17 is a random number generator seed (to allow reproducibility of the results), and 0.15 is the unit branch length. To download the data (in sequential PHYLIP format), click here.

True recombinant regions

The true mosaic structure is shown in the figure below, where the horizontal axis shows the position in the DNA sequence alignment, and the vertical axis represents the three possible tree topologies.

Recombinant regions predicted with RECPARS

The horizontal axis represents sites in the alignment, while the vertical axis represents the three possible tree topologies. The columns show the results for different values of the recombination cost/substitution cost ratio.

Recombinant regions predicted with BARCE

The figure contains three graphs, which show the posterior probabilities for the three possible tree topologies, plotted along the DNA sequence alignment (the horizontal axis represents sites in the alignment).
