Area of Work

I came to Scotland five years ago for a Master’s in quantitative ecology and epidemiology at the University of Glasgow. I enjoyed the topic and country so much that I never left! I feel fortunate to have been involved in broad variety of research over my academic history, beginning with the conservation of crop wild relatives, then studying the changing dynamics of canine rabies outbreaks in South America, the genetic diversity of parasites in Trypanosome infections, and finally landing on modelling global plant species for my PhD. I hope to take these strands of plant and animal health study forwards in my new role here and look forward to hearing more about the many interesting collaborations that BioSS is a part of. Prior to Scotland, I completed my undergraduate degree in combined Biology and Maths at the University of Birmingham, and hail from Wales originally. In my spare time I love creative writing, (beginners) ballet and getting out into nature – I am especially looking forward to the many more sunny days I hear Edinburgh has to offer.
