My Background & Work

Originally from Salamanca (Spain), I have a BSc in Statistics from the University of Salamanca but did part of my courses at the University of Glasgow as an Erasmus Exchange student. I also studied a MSc in Operational Research at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, and received a MSc in Modern Techniques in Applied Statistics from the Spanish University of Long-distance Learning. My previous work experience was at the Biostatistics unit of the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain), where I worked from February 2011 to November 2012.

I joined BioSS in December 2012, where I am working as a socio-economic statistician in collaboration with researchers at the James Hutton Institute and other BioSS members at the Rowett Institute of Nutrition and Health. I have recently started my PhD thesis, entitled “Statistical Methods for Analysis of Ordinal Response Data” and supervised by Mark J.Brewer (BioSS) and Antony Overstall (University of Glasgow).
